England Winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who was out for 2-3 weeks after injuring himself against Equador in a friendly match, brought a smile on England Manager Roy Hodgson’s face as the Arsenal Winger was seen taking part in an intense sprint work out during the teams first full training session in Rio de Janerio.
Oxlade-Chamberlain who was wearing a brace on his right leg sat inside as the rest of the squad took part in the training session only to emerge later and take seies of 20 yards sprint bursts with his fitness coach.
The news is a welcoming one for England Manager Roy Hodgson as Oxlade-Chamberlain would play an important role in Hodgson’s scheme of things.
Hodgson said that the decision to play Oxlade-Chamberlain will be taken 24 hours prior to their first kick-off against Italy. The England Manager has until Friday to decide whether he still needs to replace Oxlade-Chamberlain with John Flanagan or John Stones who are both on standny currently.
England will start their world Cup campaign when they kick-off against England on 15th June 2014 at Manaus, Brazil.
