Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has revealed that striker Alvaro Negredo intends to explore his options and hence will most probably be leaving the club this summer.
The Spain international has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League football next season but so far only Atletico Madrid and another foreign club has shown considerable interest in the striker, according to Del Nido.
“An operation of this type has three parties: Sevilla FC, the club who want to buy and the player,” Del Nido was quoted as telling Sevilla’s television channel.
“The player hasn’t put his foot down and told me ‘I want to go’, but he has said that he wants to develop and wants to play in the Champions League. We won’t forget that that will of the player is very important for making a decision.”
Sevilla FC who recently sold off Jesus Navas to Manchester City and Luis Alberto to Liverpool, remained reluctant to divulge details about a potential transfer fee for Negredo.
“What is a player who scores 30 goals a season worth? Negredo went to the European Championships, (Valencia striker Roberto) Soldado went to the Confederations Cup, Soldado-Negredo, if you see what Soldado is worth on the market, you’ll see what Negredo’s worth.
“Currently there are two offers, one from Atletico and another from a foreign team which we are not going to say who,” he added.
