Amido Balde will join the Celtic on a four year deal, subject to passing his medical.
The African-born striker is on the verge of sealing the deal worth £2million, which will see him shift base to Glasgow. Though the clubs are still in the talking phase, the Celtic hopes to come to an agreement with Balde’s club Vitoria Guimaraes by Friday.
The Portuguese striker, who had an impressive season, having scored nine goals in 27 appearances, was the focal point of varied interests from a number of clubs.
The 22-year-old football player arrived in Glasgow earlier this week, and is slated to become Neil Lennon’s latest signing.
Celtic manager Lennon has admitted that they have been staking out the striker’s movements and is hoping to bring in the player in the hope of adding more power to the strike force of the squad.
“We are just looking to strengthen that area. Balde is a big striker and has the physical attributes we are looking for. But he is interesting other clubs,” Lennon told STV last week.
