Tottenham target Bernard has been urged to join Borussia Dortmund instead by his Brazil international team-mate Dante. What’s the story? Bernard is a young man Brazil are very excited about, and with good reason. He’s predominantly a left forward in a 4231 or 433 and last season in Brazil he scored 11 and made 12. Not bad for a 20-year-old.Does it make sense? He’d be an excellent signing for either team in replacement of their main attacking weapon. Dortmund would be de facto replacing Gotze with Reus moving centrally and Spurs might have to replace Bale.Is the price right? Young Brazilians are expensive, and ones this good are very expensive. £12m starting price and then anything up to £18m could be needed. Will it happen? 8/10 – Dortmund: They need to do something big if they are serious about competing with Bayern. 3/10 – Spurs: A long way behind at the moment. Do they have the cash without selling Bale?
