Andre Villas-Boas believes that Gareth Bale will stay at Tottenham.
Reports from Spain have suggested that the Welsh footballer will be considering a deal to move to Real Madrid. These reports were given the necessary steam by his agent Jonathan Barnett who told a Spanish Television show that Bale would consider an offer, if a fee could be agreed with Tottenham.
But the Spurs manager Villas-Boas has insisted that the forward is not for sale and will remain at the club.
“He’s a Tottenham player, he’s one of the most fantastic players in the world at the moment and we are counting on him for the future,” he said.
Tottenham are currently on the Asia tour in Hong Kong where they are also to play Manchester City, South China and Sunderland.
Bale who was both the player of the year and the young player of year last season, will unfortunately miss out on the first match to be played against Sunderland. He had a small blow during practice which he will have to recover from before being pressed into action.
