Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira has hit out at Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal for failing to keep his promise of letting him play in the Red Devils first team. Van Gaal did not allow the Brazilian to go out on loan in the January transfer window having promised the 20 year old he will have a part to play in the upcoming games of the season, revealed Pereira.
However, sice then the player has remained on the sidelines, having failed to start a single Premier League game for Manchester United all season. The 64 year old’s unwillingness to send him out on loan has angered the attacking midfielder.
He said, "I wanted to be loaned out in January in order to play more and to keep developing myself, but Van Gaal told me that he did not want me to be loaned out."
"He told me to stay in Manchester because he would use me and that I would play. I told him that was fine, and that if I could stay and play then I would. He did not let me leave. I took the decision and now I’m training, doing my job and waiting for him to fulfil his word.”

Pereira is not the only one to suffer under Van Gaal this season as fellow midfielder Adnan Januzaj has also found game time hard to come by. The Belgian has been on the field for only 17 minutes this entire season. A really poor loan spell at Borussia Dortmund was cut down as Januzaj was brought back with the younsgter being warned by the Dutchman that he should join a club where he would be guaranteed regular playing time.
Pereira himself has been able to garner only 43 minutes of playing time as both the players are said to be unhappy with their current phase under LVG.
Manchester United have one game remaining in this 2015-16 season which is the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace on May 21st. Both the players are likely to stay at the bench for the encounter. It remains to be seen though if Van Gaal will continue at Old Trafford next season, and how that could affect the future of Pereira as well as Januzaj at the club.
Pereira moved to the United u-18 side from PSV Eindhoven on January 1, 2012, his 16th birthday, for a transfer fee of 150,000 euros. The 20 year old has managed to muster only 11 appearances after being called up by the senior squad in 2014, scoring a solitary goal.
