Angel Di Maria has no plans of leaving Manchester United, after enduring a disappointing first season at the club. The 27-year-old Argentinian midfielder was signed from Real Madrid for a record £59.7m and has since struggled for form and fitness especially towards the latter half of the season.
He hasn't started many games since his sending off against Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-final, leading to a lot of speculation about his future at Old Trafford. Currently on duty with Argentina at the Copa America, Di Maria has dismissed all rumours linking him to Barcelona.
Recently in an interview, he was asked about his potential departure by Argentinian newspaper Olé and he said: “No, because I’m not thinking like that. In Madrid there were times when I was whistled around the stadium but faced it and then it turned around. I like to deal with things.”
He is also uneasy about his current situation at the Old Trafford club and said: “Yes. For me, and my family. Because not everything goes as I want because I don’t play.
“Because I came with an intention and end up on the bench. It’s hard to tell how I feel there.
“I started well, with goals and assists. I was having a good time until I was out. It’s a little hard to explain why I do not play.”
Angel Di Maria has started all three group stage games for Argentina, registering a goal apiece against Paraguay and Jamaica. He will now take part in their quarter-final clash against Colombia.
