Antonio Conte was humbled on Friday night as Jurgen Klopp and his men inflicted upon the Italian, his first league defeat as Chelsea manager, running out 2-1 winners when the final whistle blew at Stamford Bridge. The result saw them drop to fourth place with a chance at going further down if Spurs win their game.
The Italian, however, felt that the result would serve as a lesson to his players and hoped they will get to learn a lot from this defeat. "You have to pay attention to details if you want to think like a great team," he told Sky Sports in an interview conducted just after the game.
"We must feel the danger and sometimes we don't, that is the truth. We have to reflect a lot on this game because it is important to understand the situation if we don't want to have another bad season.
"Chelsea is a great team but we must be a great team on the pitch and think like one. We have to pay attention in all situations and sometimes we don't feel the danger.
"At this level, it is important to pay attention to every detail if you want to win"

The Blues fell behind early in the first half when an unmarked Dejan Lovren slotted in the opener at the back post. The lead was further extended by Liverpool when Jordan Henderson scored from a blistering shot 25 yards with no Chelsea player closing him down. The Italian, who helped establish Juventus as the biggest team in Serie A in the past decade was not at all pleased with the lapses in concentration that ultimately cost them dear.
"We conceded two goals and the game became very difficult," added the Italian. "In the second half our approach was good, we scored and could have had another through Costa.
"When you concede space to Liverpool it is very difficult because their three forwards are very fast with good technique. We tried to not let them have space but we conceded two goals, the first after a quick free-kick and the second after a throw-in and Henderson was free."
Chelsea will now pay a visit to the King Power Stadium to face off against Leicester City in a third-round clash in the League Cup before heading off to The Emirates to face Arsenal in the Premier League next Saturday in the hopes of getting back to winning ways.
