Arsenal start to the new EPL season has been nothing short of fairy tale so far. The Gunners have made amends for the opening day shock loss against Aston Villa and have remained unbeaten since that defeat in the EPL. The addition of Mesut Ozil has bought a new attacking threat in the final third and the assist master has seem to have ignited French striker Olivier Giroud.
The French striker has been sizzling form this season with 8 goals and 4 assists in both the Premier League as well as Champions League. Along with it the revival of Aaron Ramsey in middle of the part has been nothing short of spectacular along with Mathieu Flamini whose presence has bought added steel to Gunners midfield.

All these factors has resulted in a sense of optimism and belief at the Emirates that this maybe just the year where it all comes together for Arsene Wenger. The sense of euphoria is understandable among Gunner fans who waited long and patiently for their team to put a considerable fight especially in Premier League, where they been scampering for top 4 finish with their North London rivals for some seasons now.
However the fact remains the current Arsenal squad may have a strong starting 11 but bench strength does not evoke any confidence. The fact that Nicolas Bendtner is only striker apart from Giroud is something that bound to be a concern. The second issue is the big match capabilities of the Gunners squad. Time after time season after season when faced with crucial test Arsenal seem to crumble against the big boys like Chelsea and Manchester clubs that trend needs to change fast. This season alone they been beaten by Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund at home in club competitions providing further evidence that it might prove to be an Achilles heel for Wenger’s team.
It’s safe to say not many expected Arsenal to show this sort of scintillating form but these are early days in a long and grueling league. With Liverpool and Manchester United to face in their next 2 Epl games will give us a true measure of this Arsenal team as to whether they are a flash in the pants or serious title contenders.
