Argentina Football Schedule

The 2019 Copa America is all set for kickoff on the 14th of June and will go on for three weeks till the 7th of July. The finals will be held at the famous Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro. There will be 12 national teams categorized into three groups, competing in this year’s tournament.

Argentina are drawn alongside Colombia, Paraguay and Qatar in Group B. They had finished as runner up in the previous two editions. Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi would lead his team and try to end Argentina’s title drought this year.

In the 2016 edition, instead of the standard three groups format there were four groups. The four teams in all four groups play each other once and the top two teams progress into the quarterfinals. This is followed by the semi finals and finals.

It was heartbreak for Lionel Messi and Argentina as they lost their third consecutive final. For Argentina, the loss marks another disappointing tournament for a talented squad. The team has all the pieces to be dominant but the Argentines have continued to come up short under pressure.
