Bayern Munich superstar Arjen Robben is frustrated with his lack of chances at the German club. He was left on the bench again on Friday night.
Bayern Munich played Wolfsberg on Friday and Robben came off the bench to score one of the two goals for Bayern that extended Bayern’s lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 18 points.
“I scored a goal and that was it,” he told reporters at the VW-Arena.
“The goal was nice, but nothing else is nice.
“I’m not happy. I always want to give my all for the team, but it was a short time again.”
Robben hopes coach Jupp Heynckes decision to leave him on the bench was made in view of the trip to London on Tuesday.
“I hope that I play,” he added. “But then I’ve had this hope many times before.
“I desperately want to play because these are the top games and I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t play.
“I don’t want to say too much about it. The coach knows what I think, but I am a professional and we need peace and quiet and I will discuss all the rest internally.”
Heynckes has a tough decision on whom to select against Arsenal with the options of Robben, Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery.
“You all saw the way he played – not only did he score, but he worked like he has never worked before in his career,” said the Bayern coach.
“What more can a coach want? It’s normal that those who aren’t playing are disappointed and Arjen is a man who shows that, but I dont have any problem with that.”
