Manchester City Player Ratings vs. Arsenal
Zack Steffen - 5/10
Steffen was a bit fortunate at the end of the first half that he got a scratch on the ball when he flew in on Martinelli. He could do little to stop Lacazette's goal.
Joao Cancelo - 6/10
Cancelo was weirdly not as involved from his natural flank as he has been in some games when he has played on the left. He did have his hands full in the first half when dealing with Martinelli though.
Ruben Dias - 6/10
This was a largely comfortable evening for Dias, as Arsenal were barely able to string a move that brought them into the final third.
Aymeric Laporte - 7/10
Laporte celebrated his return to the Manchester City starting XI with a goal after he was set up by Foden. Like Dias, he was not really given much to do in a defensive sense by Arsenal.
Oleksandr Zinchenko - 7/10
Zinchenko had a good game on the left flank for City. He managed to get himself an assist as well, with a good cross for Jesus' goal.
Rodri - 6/10
Rodri was in cruise control for most of the game, as City didn't really have to hit peak performance levels to get the better of Arsenal.
Fernandinho - 6/10
Like Rodri, Fernandinho had to break a sweat. He ensured that City kept the Arsenal players chasing them. Then when he had to break things down, he was there to snap into tackles, as he always does.
Bernardo Silva - 5/10
Silva would have liked to have been involved a lot more in City's attacking play. He kept interchanging positions with Mahrez, but it just wasn't his night.
Riyad Mahrez - 6/10
Like Silva, Mahrez also wasn't as involved as expected. He got lucky with his goal, as it should have been a routine save for Arsenal's Runarsson, who made a meal of the Algerian's free-kick.
Phil Foden - 8/10
Foden had an excellent game for Manchester City. His ability to work in tight spaces once again shone through. He finished the night with a goal and an assist.
Gabriel Jesus - 7/10
His goal was well taken and an exhibition in how to ruthlessly punish defensive mistakes. He should've scored another goal as well, but drew a save off Runarsson when he was one-on-one.
Substitutes
Ferran Torres - 6/10
Torres replaced Bernardo Silva midway through the second half and made a couple of darting runs in Arsenal territory.
Sergio Aguero - 6/10
Aguero came on to replace Jesus with about 15 minutes left to play, as he steps up his recovery and returns to regular action.
Kyle Walker - N/A
Walker came on for the last few minutes of the game, as Rodri was given a little rest.
