2. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a hard fought win over Crystal Palace. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored both goals in a man of the match appearance from central midfield, but Arsenal were made to work hard for their win. Oxlade-Chamberlain broke Palace’s stubborn resistance shortly after half time and added a second in the 73rd minute following a one two with Olivier Giroud.

Wojciech Szczesny (73): Made two saves, one of which prevented Cameron Jerome from equalising with a diving header.

Bacary Sagna (52): Frenchman Sagna made ten clearances – more than any other Arsenal player.

Laurent Koscielny (69): Surprisingly, the defender took more shots (2) than he made tackles (1). He also made four interceptions.

Per Mertesacker (65): The German centre back misplaced just two passes all game, making 72 of his 74 attempted passes.

Nacho Monreal (59): Made two interceptions, won two headed duels and made six clearances.

Mikel Arteta (50): Arteta made 117 passes, more than any other player on the pitch.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (68): His two goals came from four shots on goal, whilst he finished with a pass accuracy of 83%.

Santi Cazorla (23): Won two tackles and put six crosses in.

Mesut Özil (25): The German managed 92 completed passes, although he provided just one pass amongst that number.

Lukas Podolski (15): Completed 92% of his passes and also went past his man on two occasions.

Olivier Giroud (14): Showed great feet to set up Oxlade-Chamberlain’s second goal,

Nicklas Bendtner (-2): Not on long enough to make an impact.

Kieran Gibbs (2): Came on with the game won and only had time to make two passes.

Crystal Palace

Julian Speroni (6): Conceded two and made two saves for the Eagles.

Joel Ward (2): Won five tackles from eight attempted.

Danny Gabbidon (6): Contributed eight clearances, but did not win a tackle or headed duel all afternoon.

Damien Delaney (12): Made seven interceptions, meaning that he made as many interceptions, tackles (2) and clearances (3) as he did successful passes.

Jonathan Parr (6): Made three interceptions and won three tackles.

Jason Puncheon (-6): Put eight crosses in but found a Palace man with none of them.

KG Dikgacoi (14): Solid in midfield, winning three tackles and two headed duels and making two interceptions.

Mile Jedinak (-11): Attempted five tackles and four headed duels, but won just one of each.

Yannick Bolasie (-5): Bright with the ball at his feet, with four take ons completed, Bolasie only made nine passes throughout the game.

Cameron Jerome (4): Often left ploughing a lone foray up front, Jerome unleashed two shots on goal – one of which was well saved by Szczesny – but managed just four successful passes.

Marouane Chamakh (-22): Won four tackles and three headed duels, but failed to create a shotting chance, take a shot or put in a cross.

Substitutes:

Barry Bannan (7): Achieved a pass accuracy of 83%, making 15 passes to Palace teammates.

Dwight Gayle (6): Only long enough to touch the ball twice, making two successful passes.
