2. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a hard fought win over Crystal Palace. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored both goals in a man of the match appearance from central midfield, but Arsenal were made to work hard for their win. Oxlade-Chamberlain broke Palace’s stubborn resistance shortly after half time and added a second in the 73rd minute following a one two with Olivier Giroud.

Wojciech Szczesny (73): Made two saves, one of which prevented Cameron Jerome from equalising with a diving header.

Bacary Sagna (52): Frenchman Sagna made ten clearances – more than any other Arsenal player.

Laurent Koscielny (69): Surprisingly, the defender took more shots (2) than he made tackles (1). He also made four interceptions.

Per Mertesacker (65): The German centre back misplaced just two passes all game, making 72 of his 74 attempted passes.

Nacho Monreal (59): Made two interceptions, won two headed duels and made six clearances.

Mikel Arteta (50): Arteta made 117 passes, more than any other player on the pitch.

Mesut Özil (25): The German managed 92 completed passes, although he provided just one pass amongst that number.

Yannick Bolasie (-5): Bright with the ball at his feet, with four take ons completed, Bolasie only made nine passes throughout the game.

Cameron Jerome (4): Often left ploughing a lone foray up front, Jerome unleashed two shots on goal – one of which was well saved by Szczesny – but managed just four successful passes.

Marouane Chamakh (-22): Won four tackles and three headed duels, but failed to create a shotting chance, take a shot or put in a cross.
