What a change in fortune for David Luiz!

The much criticized defender has gone from zero to hero among the Arsenal faithful as he put in yet another dogged defensive display. He rose high to win every single of the aerial challenges he went into, while heroically putting his body on the line to make some crucial blocks.

On top of his flawless defensive display, Luiz also created a glorious opportunity for Aubameyang with a defense-splitting pass - one that the Gabonese should have burried.

#2 Flop - David Silva

David Silva has been in sensational form of late

To be fair to David Silva, none of the City attackers had a game to remember. However, it was the veteran's below-par performance that was especially eye-catching, given the excellent form he was in of late. He was directly involved in 5 goals in his last two starts, and much was expected of City's captain in the FA Cup semi-final as well.

Sadly, the 34 year-old was far from his best at Wembley, as he struggled to operate in a tightly-packed midfield. Arsenal always had a man or two guarding Silva and although he normally finds a way to influence the game regardless, he couldn't do so in this instance.

The man of the moment.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was a man relieved after scoring the opener in the 19th minute, having missed a much easier chance earlier-on. At full-time however, he was on cloud nine. Aubameyang was a constant menace, especially when operating as a left-winger, and the City defense had no answers to his pace and movement.

He crept in behind Kyle Walker to smartly turn in the first goal, while he blazed past everyone wearing blue to double their lead. As good as Arsenal were as a unit, it is hard to picture them winning this tie if not for Aubameyang's incredible quality when it comes to scoring. He also worked hard off the ball and never let the City defenders breathe easy.
