Norwich City
Goalkeeper: John Ruddy (-2)
Although John Ruddy obtained a ‘minus’ score from us here at Squawka, he did pull off some outstanding saves and comfortably put his poor performance against Chelsea a fortnight ago, behind him.
Right-Back: Russell Martin (-38)
Not Russell Martin’s best performance. He did help in the setting up of a few chances for The Canaries but his pass accuracy wasn’t good (79%) and improvement is needed on Martin’s positioning. Furthermore, he also did not attempt a single tackle.
Centre-Back: Michael Turner (10)
The only Norwich defender to really stand-out and fight for his club, Turner passed the ball well, completing 95% of his passes. His clearances (5) stopped Arsenal preceding with yet more attacks and momentarily relived his side of pressure.
Centre-Back: Sebastien Bassong (-5)
Unlike Turner, Bassong wasn’t very assertive or vocal in-terms of encouraging his team. Although Bassong didn’t have the game of his career, he did make eight crucial clearances that could have led to more Arsenal pressure. He also won both of his aerial duels.
Left-Back: Martin Olsson (-23)
Martin Olsson didn’t play well. His pass accuracy was among the worst of the players on the pitch at a measly 72% and from his four attempted crosses, only one was successful. He did however, win all four of his aerial duels.
Centre-Midfield: Alex Tettey (39)
Tettey was one of the better players on the Norwich side during this game. His pass accuracy stood at 95% and he won two of his three headers. An all-round good performance during a tough game for his side.
Right-Wing: Robert Snodgrass (15)
The Scot’s performance wasn’t the best – although he was creative at times, there was very rarely an end product from either himself or any of Norwich’s attackers. Snodgrass didn’t create a chance all game.
Centre-Midfield: Johnathan Howson (36)
To sum up Howson’s game – he deserved his goal and played well throughout. This is best shown by his action areas graphic which shows how he held up well against some of the most creative players on the planet.
Attacking Midfield: Leroy Fer (12)
Fer had a good game. He passed the ball around the midfield very well, and had a pass accuracy of 89%. He also looked very strong winning all three of his tackles.
Left-Wing: Anthony Pilkington (10)
The Norwich attacker had a decent game, his best chance coming on the hour but he spurned it wide. Defensively, he put a shift in, making four interceptions.
Striker: Gary Hooper (-10)
Gary Hooper had a tough game playing against two very physical centre-defenders who bossed their areas and played well all game. He was also hampered by there being a lack of service from Norwich’s midfield. The striker had just one attempt on goal, it was off target.
Substitutes:
Nathan Redmond (1)
Nathan Redmond didn’t have enough time to make a sufficient impact on the game as he was brought on with around 10 minutes to play.
Wes Hoolahan (12)
Hoolahan was in the same boat as Redmond in terms of not having enough time to make an impact on the game. He did take-on two Arsenal players but wasn’t able to conjure anything for his fellow attackers.
