Premier League club Arsenal FC has announced Bodog as their official Asian betting partner.
The deal, which is a three-year multi-million deal, gives Bodog rights to capitalize on the Gunners’ Asian fan base and popularity by developing marketing initiatives and consumer promotions.
Vinai Venkatesham, Head of Global Partnerships at Arsenal, said: “Our tours give our fans beyond the UK a great opportunity to see the team in action, and this Asian tour was no different with our first-team squad playing in front of hundreds of thousands of passionate supporters. “As our fan base in Asia continues to grow rapidly, working in partnership with companies like Bodog who have long-term roots in the region, provides a strong platform to further engage with Arsenal fans in Asia.”
Bodog is an online entertainment brand launched in 1994 by Calvin Ayre. Originally, the company traded as www.bodog.com but the brand was later divested and intellectual property rights were assigned to and consolidated in BodogBrand.com. The trademark and brand has been subsequently licensed to a series of organizations worldwide.
Izhar Biran, Bodog’s marketing director, said: “The Premier League’s popularity in Asia is well documented and some clubs have been quicker than others to realise that potential. Arsenal has been particularly pro-active in the region for a number of years and the recent tour only serves to highlight that point. The trust and loyalty both Arsenal and the Premier League stand for makes this the perfect partnership to continue the phenomenal growth of the Bodog brand in Asia.”
