Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that Arsenal has the funds to bring Wayne Rooney to the Emirates.
“It happened to us last year and it can happen to them,” explained Wenger. “Rooney is under contract and has two years to go so it’s United who make the decision. But we would not have a problem with the wages of Rooney.”
Wayne Rooney has been recently the point of attraction in the transfer market as he seems to be on his way out of Manchester.
When asked about Cesc Fabregas, he was sceptical about the move.
He said: “Fabregas has decided to stay one more year at Barcelona. Unless he has changed his mind, I don’t know… but that’s what I’ve been told. We have the first-option clause in the contract so we would be on alert but at the moment that’s not something we’re after.”
Arsenal are yet to make a big signing, and are also reportedly interested in Liverpool‘s Luis Suarez after Gonzalo Higuain’s move was blocked by new Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.
