Carl Jenkinson might on his last stretch as an Arsenal player with West Ham reportedly interested in the services of the Arsenal right-back, according to reports.
West Ham have been quite active in the transfer market. After securing the services of Mauro Zarate, Diego Poyet, Aaron Cresswell, Cheikhou Kouyate and Enner Valencia (subject to work permit), Sam Allardyce is looking to shore up the right side of defence with the acquisition.
Jenkinson, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan, joined the Gunners from Charlton Athletic in 2011. But in three years at the Emirates, the second choice right-back for Arsene Wenger has been precisely that: second choice.
Many thought Jenkison might finally get a crack at making the right-back position his own following the departure of Bacary Sagna. Wenger, however, had different plans, and the acquisition of Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle earlier this week will see Jenkinson yet again relegated to back-up duties.
Jenkisnon, who is looking to get into the England national frame could do with a fresh start at West Ham. However, with Arsenal involved in the Champions League, Wenger will also look to secure depth in the squad.
