Arsenal are Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a World Cup forward and no, it’s not Alexis Sanchez it is in fact QPR striker Loic Remy, according to the Metro.
The France international has just returned from the World Cup, having spent last season on loan with Newcastle. He is keen to make his departure from Loftus Road permanent this summer.
The North London club have been interested in Remy for some time, which was bolstered by his impressive displays for Newcatle last season. His low £8 million buy-out clause is also interesting Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is famed for his penchant for a bargain.
The 27-year-old scored 14 goals in the Premier League last season. Arsenal need to add to their strike force, after last term saw Olivier Giroud lead the line almost entirely by himself.
While Remy has not yet agreed personal terms at the Emirates, an agreement between QPR and the Gunners is said to be getting closer.
Arsenal could also announce the signing of Barcelona’s Sanchez before the week is out.
