Arsenal have almost completed the the loan signing of Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin.
Arsenal have appeared to beaten Liverpool into a loan deal with the La Liga champions with a possible permanent transfer in the future. The Turkish international’s arrival is believed to be a replacement of Alex Song who is set to join Barcelona after the two clubs agreed a £15m transfer fee.
The Turkish international made 11 appearances for Real Madrid after joining the Spanish giants from Borussia Dortmund on a six-year deal in May 2011 but has failed to make a first-team breakthrough in Jose Mourinho’s side.
Sahin, who preferred to join Brendan Rodger’s Liverpool side, was pushed on by his agent to sign for Arsenal instead although teammate Xabi Alonso also persuaded Sahin to join the Anfield club.
