Arsene Wenger is confident of securing a double swoop for two of his targets in Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy, according to the Mirror.
Wenger is yet to conduct any meaningful business in the summer transfer window and that has led to criticism from the north London faithful. The Gunners have been linked with a host of players, but have failed to pull off any deals so far.
First on the list is Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, who reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners recently. Sanchez shone at the World Cup and is also a target for Liverpool, but it is understood the forward prefers a move to London.
Another player on Wenger’s wish list is Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer. The Frenchman has impressed at the World Cup this summer and with Bacary Sagna leaving the club for Manchester City, it leaves Arsenal with no recognised first-team right-back.
Newcastle would want around £10m for the defender and it is thought Wenger will bow down to the price.
