Arsenal - Favourites to lift the title

After the 3-1 loss to Aston Villa, who would have imagined such an unbelievable comeback? Only Wenger and the players knew. Ever since the 3-1 defeat to Villa, Arsenal have been unbeaten, and have won all matches other than the 1-1 draw at the hawthorns which is still a good result.

Not only have Arsenal recorded many wins,the way they have gone about it is something amazing, not just for an arsenal fan but for all who had written off arsenal. When Arsenal win,they just cannot stop. They always go on huge winning streak and since March, they have most points in the league.

Arsenal’s wins have been quite superb. Since the defeat to Villa, Arsenal have shown character that Wenger is so confident that Arsenal have. Aaron Ramsey, who initially played because of injuries to the team has proved to be Arsenal’s best player this season. He is so technically gifted,covers every blade of grass showcasing his energy, plays with superb creativity and finishes with a bang.

As Wenger said, he is Arsenal’s engine and has shown everyone what he is capable of and has started performing consistently against any kind of opposition. He also bagged the player of the month award and is surely the most improved player this season. Wenger also needs to be given credit for sticking with Aaron who suffered multiple fractures in the 2009-2010 season. It is difficult for a player to recover physically and mentally after such an injury and at such a young and tender age. Kudos to him!

After the defeat to Aston Villa, Arsenal beat Fenabarche twice, Fulham and their biggest rivals, Tottenham, but still Arsenal fans wanted a big name in their team. Arsenal had captured Flamini for free and not too many fans were thrilled with this signing as they wanted a big name in their side. However, Flamini has proved to be an extremely effective player.

Ever since the departure of Patrick Viera, Arsenal have lacked a defensive midfielder willing todo the dirty job of tackling hard. Not only has Flamini done this, he holds the side, Shouts out at others to make sure they positioned well, whenever there is a bad tackle on an Arsenal player he tries to influence the referee by immediately protesting and his experience is very important for the development of a young and promising Arsenal side. All this in a free agent. An awesome buy for Arsenal and great thinking by Wenger.

Arsenal fans eventually got their wish. They signed the world’s best play maker, Mesut Ozil. Within minutes into his first game, he assisted Giroud’s goal with a sublime first touch and a perfectly weighted cross. He Assisted 3 goals against Stoke city,all from set pieces. He was also very influential in Arsenal’s triumph against Napoli, scoring a stunner and assisting Giroud. Arsenal went on to win 2-0. It was a superb performance. He also scored twice in Arsenal’s 4-1 triumph against Norwich with a superb header and a tap in after Ramsey’s low cross. He has fit in superbly into the Arsenal set up and there is so much more to come from him.

Arsenal have an awesome midfield- The likes of Ozil, Cazorla,wilshere,Arteta,and Ramsey. Who benefits from this midfield? The striker- Olivier Giroud. Arsenal wanted a new striker in the summer, failing to land Jovetic, Higuain and Suarez.

Giroud has been unplayable at times this season and has been superb in all matches. His first touch is excellent. His hold up play is a class apart and his finishing perfect. He scored in the 1st 4 premier league games, against Napoli and has assisted thrice in the premier league. Even though he always does not score, he combines superbly with Arsenals midfield. What more do u need from a striker?

Arsenal need a new right back, centre back and a sub striker, They should go for Seamus coleman, Lovren and Demba Ba/Hernandez in the January transfer Window.

With a very good team in very good form, Arsenal are surely the favorites even though most people back chelsea. This would help to create an underdog spirit in the team which is very useful for a team
