Johan Djourou has reportedly joined Hamburg on a permanent deal from Arsenal.
The buying clause from the centre back’s loan deal has been activated by the club officials which will see him play for the German club.
The Swiss international had been serving a loan spell since July 2013. The done deal is estimated to be somewhere in the region of €2.5m and €3.5m which will see him tied to the Bundesliga outfit till 2016.
Since his move to Hamburg, he has made 20 appearances for the struggling side who presently are battling it out in relegation zone.
Hamburg manager Mirko Slomka the news on Wednesday that a deal had been sealed off without revealing the details.
“I am happy that he’s staying with us for the next few years as he’s a stabilising influence at the centre of our defence,” he said.
