Aaron Ramsey has backed his Arsenal side to bounce back from their heavy defeat to Manchester City as they host Chelsea on Monday.
The Gunners were beaten 6-3 at the Etihad stadium, with their lead at the top cut in half and facing the possibility of entering the London derby in second place, with Liverpool hosting Cardiff on Saturday.
But Arsenal’s tackling king is confident that result will prove nothing but a blip and that Arsenal can return to winning ways and maintain their grip on the pole positionover Christmas.
“To concede that many goals was disappointing, especially when we have defended so well this season, but we still created a lot of opportunities and could have had six goals as well.
“We’re still top of the league and therefore in a great position. We’ve dropped a few points in the past couple of games and we are still top, and that shows what a good start we’ve had.
“Hopefully we’ll learn from this little blip and put it right as soon as possible.”
Arsenal know that defeat to Chelsea will see them switch positions, with the potential they could be sitting in fourth position over the festive period, should results go against them this weekend.
After a dynamic start to the season, Ramsey himself has been somewhat subdued in the past two games in which Arsenal have picked up just one point.
He has created only two chances for his team-mates in the draw with Everton and defeat to City, had two shots and mustered a passing accuracy of just 78%.
