Arsenal are to rekindle their interest in Lyon’s midfield maestro Clement Grenier, according to The Mirror.
The 22-year-old was linked with a move to north London last summer but nothing transpired. It now seems that Arsene Wenger will go in for the midfielder again with the news that Theo Walcott is set to sit out on the sidelines for a month with another injury.
With Mesut Ozil looking like he needs a rest most weeks and the likes of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey constantly starting for the Gunners, Wenger may go for Grenier to help ease the pressure on the current midfield.
Lyon are said to be open to offers in the region of €12-15 million and has scored three goals in Ligue 1 this season.
He remains committed to the French club, but should one of Europe’s big clubs coming calling – which they evidently will soon enough – Grenier is highly likely to leave the club.
A move for Grenier now would be ideal given his price-tag is likely to increase by the time the summer transfer window reopens.
