Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has a major injury crisis on his hands with Santi Cazorla out with injury and Olivier Giroud a doubt for Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Marseille on Wednesday. The Daily Mail reports.
The Gunners are crippled up front with Lukas Podolski also out with an injury.
Giroud was hauled off with an injury sustained while trying to meet Aaron Ramsey’s cross during the 3-1 victory over Sunderland.
The 26-year-old was on the score sheet in the game scoring the first goal for the visitors. The injured striker was replaced by 17-year-old starlet Chuba Akpom during injury time.
Arsene Wenger may use Theo Walcott as a striker if Giroud misses the game.
Speaking after the game, Wenger said: ‘Cazorla has an ankle problem I don’t think he will play before the next international break and will be out for at least a fortnight.’
‘[on Giroud] that’s my worry after the game because we are very thin at the moment. He has a knee problem.
Giroud seems to be fine and said on social networking site Twitter: ‘My knee is ok don’t worry! Thanks for your support!’
