Arsenal are set to receive a boost from Bacary Sagna as he is poised to sign a two-year extension at the club.
Sagna’s contract expires in the summer and it seemed like he would look to move back to France where the likes of Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested. But it’s likely that he is ready to extend his stay at the Emirates by bringing an end to the contract stale mate between the club and player.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was hopeful that the matter would be resolved in the next fortnight.
Wenger said to reporters: “Yes, that could be decided in next two weeks. It looks positive. It would be a great boost, of course.”
Sagna has been in great form this season and it seemed that the player wanted to see if Wenger was staying before committing his future to the club. Sagna could be looking at a pay of about £70,000 per week.
