Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keeping close tabs on Valencia’s young star, Francisco Alcacer and has had his scouts watch him four times this month, according to the Daily Mirror.
Alcacer has become a key figure in the Valencia squad and has nine goals this season, even grabbing the winning goal at the Nou Camp recently.
The Spanish Under-21 striker has attracted the interest of Wenger who is very keen on signing the highly-rated youngster. Alcacer, who spent last season on loan at Getafe, has played for Spain at every age-group level from Under-16s to U21s.
German Julian Draxler and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata remain high on Wenger’s summer transfer wishlist, but Alcacer is now firmly perched near the top of his list, too, after an impressive season in La Liga.
Valencia are also trying to tie down left-back Juan Bernat with a new deal to scare off Manchester United, who have been keeping an eye on him.
Alcacer has played 13 times in La Liga this season and his six league goals are only beaten by Jonas, who has 9 in La Liga. His promising early career may see him carry more interested parties should he continue to impress this season.
Alcacer has created 14 chances in La Liga this season, claiming two assists.
