Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Lyon’s defensive midfielder, Max Gonalons. The French international player is rated at £ 10 million and has made six appearances for Les Bleus.
Gonalons has 3 years left on his contract at Lyon. However, Wenger has sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old when Lyon travel to Nancy on Sunday.
After the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona earlier this season, Mikel Arteta took up defensive midfield duties. But the Spaniard has had an average performance so far and the Gunners are in desperate need of a defensive midfielder.
Gonalons has a reputation of being extremely consistent which is exactly what Arsenal need in their players right now.
