Arsenal have beaten Liverpool for the signing of Finnish prodigy Hugo Keto from Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi, Helsinki. The Under 19 goalkeeper passed a medical with North London club this week and signed a three year deal with the Gunners. Hugo Keto, a boyhood fan of Liverpool, spent last season on trial with the Reds before spending some time with Arsenal. The 6 feet 3 inches goalkeeper chose the Gunners over the Merseyside giants. Hugo Keto posted a photo on his instagram account posing at the Arsenal’s training ground.
At the end of the season, ?ukasz Fabia?ski joined Swansea City for free transfer while loanee Emiliano Viviano returned to Italy. That leaves Arsenal boss with only one goalkeeper in the first team squad and he will hope Hugo Keto will compete for the position in coming years. Born in 1998, The 16 year old talented shot stopper will join club’s youth setup & will face tough competition with young goalkeepers such as Deyan Iliev & Damian Martinez. On his official twitter account @hugo_keto, he tweeted in Finnish
which merely translates as: “After first week of training with the Gunners, it’s time to rest.”Though this is not the signing Arsenal fans are looking for, Wenger is renowned for developing the youth and Hugo Keto will hope to get playing time with first team in Capital One Cup.
