Mesut Ozil has played with some of the best players in the world like Cristiano Ronaldo and Alexis Sanchez

German midfielder Mesut Ozil has had the opportunity of playing alongside footballers who are considered among the best in the world right now. Few notable names from that list would be Cristiano Ronaldo whom he played alongside during his time at Real Madrid and his current Arsenal teammate Alexis Sanchez according a report by London Evening Standard.

Sanchez may not be categorized in the same league as Ronaldo and the comparisons usually revolve around Messi and Ronaldo. However, the Chilean is undoubtedly the best player in the Arsenal squad and was also instrumental in helping Chile win their first ever Copa America. The former Barcelona man had a brilliant campaign for Arsenal and carried that form into the Copa America.

During an Arsenal member's day event, the Gunners fans had the opportunity to ask questions to their star players. And one fan could not resist asking Arsenal's record signing to compare the two players and take his pick.

The Arsenal midfielder, however, refused to pick one over the other but made it a point to praise both Ronaldo as well as Sanchez.

"They are two different players," Ozil said. “Ronaldo is a player who scores a lot of goals and Alexis is a player that plays for the team. You see that in the game, he runs a lot for the team, fights for the team. I just enjoy playing with these players, they are both great players for me.”

“Now I play for Arsenal Alexis is a good guy, a good player, and I think all the team are enjoying having him with us.”

Ozil managed to dodge a tricky question while making the fan happy and also managed to appreciate both players without making a direct comparison of the two. Arsenal would be hoping that Ozil and Sanchez combine together well this season as they try to improve upon last season’s FA Cup triumph and a third-place finish in the league.

Arsenal are getting ready face Premier League champions Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday but will be without their star man Sanchez who has been given an extended break following his involvement in the Copa America.
