According to Arsenal’s official website, Yaya Sanogo has joined Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season. Reports suggest that Sanogo joined Crystal Palace to gain more first team experience. Arsene Wenger had earlier confirmed reports on Sanogo being linked to a loan deal.
He had earlier said: “Sanogo will go out on loan, my option is preferably in England.” Wenger further added, “We are very short today of an option in England and maybe he should go to an English Premier League club.”
Yaya Sanogo, who is only 21 years old, has many achievements to his name. He has been part of victories like the FA Cup in May 2014 and the Community Shield game this season. When he was playing for his former team Auxerre, he scored 11 goals in 24 games and won eight caps for the French U-21 side. Sanogo was also part of the France squad that won the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2013 where he finished the tournament as the top scorer of his side.
Sanogo has tremendous promise: Pardew
Sanogo is Alan Pardew’s first signing as Eagles Manager. After successfully completing his first deal, Pardew said: “He’s a young player with tremendous promise, somebody that I have tracked personally and this club has too so that fitted well”.
Pardew further added: “We have given him an opportunity, he needs to play more games and I think he’s ready for that and he proved that at Arsenal.
“It’s tough to get in their team, but he’s closer to the starting action with us.”
When Sanogo was asked about his move to Crystal Palace, he said: “When the Arsenal manager spoke with me about Crystal Palace I was very happy because I want to play more games.
“I think Palace are a good team, I watched the game against Tottenham and it was a great performance from the guys. I hope I can help the club have a successful second half of the season.”
