Arsenal target Julian Draxler has confirmed that he is staying at Schalke next season.
The Gunners were reportedly going to bid £40m for the attacking midfielder but the 20-year-old has stated that he is staying at Schalke following their qualification for the UEFA Champions League on the last day of the season.
Draxler has gone on record saying: “I have absolutely no thoughts of moving.”
“It is guaranteed that there will be speculation, but it’s very, very likely I will play [at Schalke] next season.”
The youngster has a contract with Schalke until 2018 with a buy out clause worth approximately £40 million. He was previously targeted by Arsenal in the January transfer window and the Gunners look like they might miss out again.
