Arsenal to sign Romanian striker Ciprian Marica

Romanian striker Ciprian Marica’s agent has said that the player is close to joining Arsenal. The 27-year-old is now a free agent after his contract with Schalke expired last year.

Shaktar Donetsk, Lazio and Inter Milan are also said to be interested in signing the player. Getafe has also shown interest but the player’s agent says that he is likely to play for the London outfit.

Becali, the player’s agent, told Mirror :”Marica is a really great striker who has already got experience in Western European football and so it’s natural that big clubs are eyeing his career. He’s close to joining Arsenal, but we have to wait for the next week.”

The player has scored just nine goals in 55 appearances for Schalke.
