Arsenal is the only team this season that appears to be consistent. Though they have lacked in producing chances against the big teams. Currently they are sitting on top of the table and arguably they deserve to be there.

But the real test of nerve comes in the months of February and March for them with a series of tough fixtures including their Champions League ties against FC Bayern Munich.

They also have to play the top four or top five as one can say now during this period. They cannot falter in those league matches as they did in the first half of the season. They need to be consistent and win the matches against all the top clubs in this half or else sustaining the top position would a very difficult task.

Their form against the top clubs hasn’t been convincing enough and one can say that they might face difficulties in defeating the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. And if that happens surely the title bid would be over.

To overcome the issue of difficult fixtures in this period they can definitely go for a couple of good signings in this winter transfer market so as to make sure they have enough depth in the squad and can rotate the squad like City and Chelsea have been doing.

Arsene Wenger is said to be in the market in search of a striker, but he surely must be knowing that he needs back up in the midfield too. The injury to Ozil and Ramsey at the same time has been a setback and creativity lacks in midfield without them.

Playing back to back tough fixtures would be a difficult task as Arsene Wenger would be forced to rest key players in certain fixtures. If he decides to rest players for the league match, he risks in losing the top two spot as the gap is just 2 points separating 1st and 3rd. For sure Arsene Wenger wouldn’t rest players for the Champions League tie against Bayern. If he risks doing that Bayern would be more than happy to punish Arsenal thoroughly.
No one can deny that they have played very well this season, but the fixtures are not in favor of Arsenal, and they might lose their top spot unless as said (they need winter transfer ins).
The only conclusion that is derived is that it is very difficult but surely not impossible for Arsenal to win the league.
