Arsenal looking at Reus to replace Sanchez

Arsenal to fight it out with Manchester United for Marco Reus

The Borussia Dortmund player is considered to be one of the best wide attackers in world football and has scored 89 goals for the Bundesliga side since joining in 2012. While his team-mates -- Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels -- left Dortmund for pastures new, Reus stayed at the club.

Currently, he is looking for a fresh challenge as he nears 30 years of age. As quoted by The Mirror, Reus said:

"There are four or five international clubs who interest me. On May 31 next year, I will turn 30. That would be my last big contract and a final opportunity to try something different."
“I have to be honest and fair and say I don’t know where I’ll end up. At the moment, I’m very happy in Dortmund and not thinking about what happens after 2019. But, of course, the time will come and then I will sit down and calmly make a decision.”

The report also states that Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing the player to Manchester United. Nevertheless, Arsene Wenger has been interested in the player since a long time and reportedly considers the player to be an ideal replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

The attacking player was reported by Spanish outlet AS, to have verbally agreed to join Real Madrid next summer. Further, his Palmeiras team-mate Vinicius Junior is already set to join Zinedine Zidane's side in the summer of 2019 for a reported fee of €45 million.

However, Sports Illustrated now state that Arsenal are interested in Alan Guimaraes and are looking to convince the player before his club commits to any legal agreement with Madrid. The 17-year old apparently has a release clause of around €44 million and the Gunners are willing to pay it ahead of the Spanish side.

The Brazilian has been in fine form for the national team at the U-17 World Cup in India and has helped his team to enter the semifinals.

The PSV Eindhoven and Mexico winger joined the Dutch side this season but his impressive performances have already attracted attention. Arsenal were reported to be monitoring the player with the club's top scout Steve Rowley keeping tabs on him.

Now, Lozano has commented on the speculation as per Spanish outlet Marca, saying:

“How long do I play at PSV? I do not know that. I am now 100 per cent focused on the team and hope to play for years. PSV is a beautiful club with fantastic people.”

The London side are willing to offer £22.4 million for the 22-year old in January as per the report and he could prove to be a good addition to Wenger's squad.
