The world of Arsenal Football Club can be said as one intriguing affair. Dabbling between despair and hope, the Gunners always fight their way to the next game. The transfer market is one place which gives the Gunners a breather from their long-standing managerial limbo.
And just as is the case with any other top club, Arsenal get linked with numerous players day in day out. Some rumours raise eyebrows, some seem realistic, while some are there just for the sake of it. In this segment, we will take a look a look at all the major advancements that happen in the transfer world today concerning Arsenal.
So without further ado, let's take a look at the transfer reports featuring Arsenal that made headlines on 26th March 2018:
Juventus and Manchester United to battle it out for Aaron Ramsey
Juventus have entered the race to sign Aaron Ramsey in the summer, according to reports from The Sun. Ramsey has an Arsenal contract until 2019 but no talks have reportedly been scheduled between the Gunners and the player to sign an extension. This has led the rumour mongers to work overtime regarding the Welshman's future.
Juventus' first choice midfield target has been Liverpool's Emre Can whose reluctance to sign an agreement with the Italian club has allegedly led Juventus to sweat over the player's intentions. Hence, the Bianconeri have reportedly switched their focus to Ramsey who may be willing to join the Serie A giants.
Meanwhile, United's Jose Mourinho has instructed the club vice-chairman Ed Woodward to make a move for Ramsey if Paul Pogba decides to call it a day on his second stint in England. Both Juventus and Manchester United are set for a tug of war for the Welsh midfielder who is valued at around £35 million.
Arsenal suffer a blow in their pursuit of Thomas Tuchel
Kicker had yesterday reported that Thomas Tuchel has decided to reject Bayern Munich's advances to join Arsenal. But a new claim has been doing the rounds on the internet which will not please the Arsenal faithful.
Sport Buzzer has today claimed that Thomas Tuchel is not interested in taking over from Arsene Wenger because he has his eyes set on the hot seat at Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants have been linked with Tuchel in the past few months and are reportedly keen on taking the former Borussia Dortmund manager on board.
Arsenal were heavily linked with Tuchel as the German was the prime recommendation of Arsenal's head of recruitment Sven Mislintat. In fact, the duo had worked together back in Dortmund before Tuchel was sacked in May 2017.
Arsenal eyeing a move for Jan Oblak
Arsenal are looking to sign a goalkeeper in the summer with Petr Cech not being able to perform consistently at the highest level. Reports from The Daily Express have linked the Gunners with a move for Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak.
The Slovenian international is considered as one of the best in his position and will be an instant upgrade on Petr Cech. Oblak has a £88 million release clause in Madrid which may prove to be a major roadblock for Arsenal. Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the custodian, whereas Liverpool have also been linked with him in the past.
Oblak sparked rumours of his exit when he was recently quoted as saying, "It's tough to discuss the future. It’s not easy to talk about what’s going to happen tomorrow never mind what will happen next season, but I am calm and the situation depends on Atletico – nobody knows the future."
