Arsenal defender (apparently) Armand Traore has completed a transfer to Queens Park Rangers, the Gunners’ official site confirmed today. The deal is reported to be in the region of 1.2 million pounds for a period of three years.
The official website ran this news piece-
Armand Traore has joined Queen’s Park Rangers on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Traore, 21, made 32 appearances for Arsenal, after joining from Monaco as a youth player in 2006.
Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to wish Armand well for his career at Loftus Road.
Traore has had an extremely stop-start Arsenal career, in spite of having featured in all four competitions for them. He made his debut against West Bromwich Albion at the tender age of 17, but couldn’t consolidate his place after showing initial promise.
He was sent on multiple loan moves, with all of them being fairly underwhelming. A season long loan to Portsmouth followed by an overseas switch to Juventus helped in giving Traore much needed game time and experience, but he couldn’t make the cut at North London.
His last game will be a dreary memory, as a terrible performance (both individual and team) resulted in Man United thumping Arsenal 8-2 at Old Trafford.
Arsenal are looking towards Fenerbache full back Andres Santos as a replacement for Traore, and a deal is believed to be very close for a fee in the region of 7 million Euros. Stay tuned for more.
