Gunners close to landing Dortmund forward
The Gabon international has spent five years at Borussia Dortmund and has turned into one of the best strikers in world football. Now, Arsenal are looking to bring in the player and if reports are to be believed, the player's exclusion from Dortmund's squad for the game against Hertha could be the final nail in the coffin.
Despite Dortmund's sporting director, Michael Zorc, accusing Arsenal of a lack of respect in talking about players from other clubs and insisting there are no active negotiations going on, Aubameyang is set to join the London side in the coming days, as per Sky Germany.
The report states the transfer fee to be around €60 million with a three-and-a-half year contract that will fetch him net wages of €10 million per year.
If Arsenal indeed pull off the deal in the coming days, then the Gunners faithful can have the mouth-watering prospect of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette playing up front.
Malcom deal is currently a longshot at the moment
The Bordeaux winger is wanted by Arsene Wenger to bolster his ranks but the deal looks far from completion. Speaking about the situation, Sky Sports News reporter Keith Downie said:
“What about arrivals at The Emirates and Arsenal’s pursuit of the Bordeaux winger Malcolm? Conflicting statements coming from the French club on this one."
"The Bordeaux president has told L’Equipe in France that things are clear with his agents, they say his contract has not been extended in the summer just to give him away this winter. He went on to say that Arsenal can always try, but they’ll have a hard time signing him."
“Contrast this to the Bordeaux coach, who revealed Malcom is considering an offer from Arsenal.”
Adding to these mixed reports is Wenger's statement in the pre-match press conference regarding a deal in January for the Brazilian where he said:
"I don’t think so, no."
While the statements continue to send mixed signals, the deal currently looks nowhere near completion.
Wenger confirms Mkhitaryan as a part of Sanchez deal
The Gunners boss explained about the Chilean's transfer to Manchester United to be at an advanced stage and the deal will likely happen in the coming days. Further, Wenger confirmed Henrikh Mkhitaryan to be a part of the deal when he told reporters:
"My understanding is yes. The wages would not be a problem. Of course [I like him]. If it's a possibility it's because I like the player."
"We played many times against him when he was at Dortmund so he's certainly appreciated the quality of our games and the way we play football so that's why certainly he loves the club. This would be an exchange of players and I think one would replace the other."
However, he did speak on exercising caution until the deal is completed and said:
"I've worked on transfers for 30 years so it is likely to happen but any moment things can break down. That's how the transfer market is so as long as it's not over the line you have to accept that it can as well not happen. These kinds of things are never guaranteed."
Thus, if all goes as planned, Sanchez will be a United player while Mkhitaryan will be an Arsenal player in the coming days.
