Hleb believes Sanchez will sign a new deal
Former Arsenal defender Alexander Hleb is sure that wantaway forward Alexis Sanchez will stay at the club beyond 2018. The Chilean was set to leave the Gunners and move to Manchester City this summer before the deal fell through on deadline day.
The 28-year old is looking to run down his contract and leave on a free next summer but Hleb thinks otherwise. He told The Independent:
“Arsenal found themselves in a very difficult situation with Sanchez. On one side, if he doesn’t want to play for the team you could say it would have been better to sell him for good money. On the other hand, he’s such an important player for Arsenal and is a leader."
"I have seen him play this season and he still fights, give his best and scores goals. He looked professional rather than angry that he didn’t get his move to Manchester City."
“I think he will wait until the winter, see how the team are playing and maybe sign a new contract. Why not stay at Arsenal? It’s a great club with huge tradition, great fans and Arsene Wenger as the manager. They can achieve things. Why leave?”
It remains to be seen whether Sanchez stays at Arsenal, especially with clubs circling around for him in the upcoming January transfer window.
Gunners not interested in Cuadrado
According to Calciomercato, Arsenal have dropped their interest to sign Juventus winger, Juan Cuadrado, in January. The former Chelsea wide-man has done well since moving to Italy and the Gunners were reportedly interested to bring the Colombian winger to the Emirates.
Cuadrado had clarified last summer of his desire to stay in Turin and not move to different clubs. Nevertheless, AS Roma and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the player and waiting to sign him up.
Meanwhile, Wenger is reportedly looking at other targets such as Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic for the winger role.
Arsenal fighting it out with Manchester United for Davis
Several reports confirm that 19-year old Keinan Davis is being monitored by Arsenal and Manchester United's scouts. The Aston Villa forward has made a blistering start to the season and this has grabbed the attention of Premier League elite.
Under Steve Bruce's tutelage, Davis has improved massively in recent times to become a regular starter for Aston Villa. The youngster is tall, strong and has already scored twice in his last three appearances for Aston Villa.
Olivier Giroud's possible exit in 2018 could open up a slot for the exciting youngster to join the squad and fulfil his potential with Arsene Wenger's guidance.
