Arsenal have been in fine form recently with the trio of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott wrecking havoc on the opponents since the past month. The Gunners have started their preparations for the next season and are shortlisting their transfer targets for January and also the next summer. AC Milan's striker, M'baye Niang is now on Wenger's radar to ply his trade for Arsenal from the next season.
Niang has been in sensational form this campaign as the youngster has already scored three goals and provided three assists in seven league games for the Rossoneri. The 21-year-old has been one of Milan's best player this season with the Vincenzo Montella managed side unlikely to leave their prized asset in January. Since joining Milan in 2012 from Caen, Niang has scored 10 goals in 30 appearances for Milan with this being touted as the breakthrough season for the talented forward.
The Frenchman has a blistering pace on him and is dubbed as one of the exciting talents to look forward to in the future. But he has been far too inconsistent to attract the attention of Europe's big boys but finally with Niang showing his talent on a regular basis, Arsenal are reported to be in serious contention for the 21-year-old.
Milan is reported to be holding out for at least a sum of £31 million to part ways with one of Milan's best young talent in recent times.
Niang was earlier targeted by the Gunners in 2012 when he was at Caen but moved to Milan in a £2.5 million deal. The French U-21 star has been a self-proclaimed PSG fan as he was quoted earlier, "When I was young, I was rooting for PSG, even still today I watch their matches. One day, I hope to play over there. Like all young players we always hope of playing for PSG."
It remains to be seen whether the French giants are interested in the forward with Arsenal being the firm favorites for signing the 21-year-old while Chelsea had also registered their interest in Niang when he was on loan at Montpellier.
Arsenal signed Lucas Perez this summer to provide competition to Olivier Giroud who has struggled with his fitness in the current season. The Gunners thrashed Ludogorets 6-0 yesterday in their Champions League encounter which took them to the top of Group A, ahead of PSG on goal difference.
Mesut Ozil scored his first hat-trick for the Gunners while Alexis Sanchez scored a delightful chip to inflict more damage to the Bulgarian giants.
