Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi seems likely to leave the Italian club in this summer transfer window. He has been linked with multiple clubs, including Tottenham Hotspurs, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal. Due to recent developments, Arsenal appears to be his most probable destination.
The Argentinian’s wife and agent Wanda Nara posted a tweet saying “Feliz día a mis Amigos”, which translates to ‘happy day my friends’ - a seemingly rather insignificant tweet. The interest stems from the fact that the tweet was sent from London. While it is not a foregone conclusion, one can assume that the purpose of her visit to the English capital city is to discuss the possibility of a transfer for the 23-year-old forward to Arsenal.
Speaking to calciomercato.com, Ms Nara had earlier said, "From what I can gather, Inter have put Mauro Icardi up for sale. There are lots of clubs interested. We'll evaluate the situation with the maximum respect for everybody.
"Mauro would really be sorry to leave Inter, but we understand that the financial situation at the club means they evidently can't keep hold of Icardi.
"There's no release clause in his contract and we hope Inter don't ask for sums beyond his market value, and that their demands are coherent with his contract."

However, it has also been reported that Inter do not want to sell him and that the new owners believe he will play an important part in the future of the club.
Arsenal are looking for alternative striking options after their attempt to land Jamie Vardy failed. The Gunners are understood to be preparing a £40m bid for the striker in a deal which would offer him weekly wages of around £100,000. Olivier Giroud has scored 47 goals and contributed 17 assists in 101 appearances for the club, while Icardi netted 48 times and assisted 12 times in 88 appearances.
Some will question the wisdom of spending such a large amount of money on what doesn’t immediately appear to be much of an upgrade, and rightly so. That being said, it must be noted that Mauro Icardi is a full six years younger than Giroud, and has time on his side.
However, with Tottenham also included in the running for his signature, things can take another twist if the Icardi chooses White Hart Lane over The Emirates.
