Arsenal's Mesut Ozil has created more clear cut chances this season – with 12 games to spare – than Ryan Giggs or Steven Gerrard ever managed to do so in one season. The German is en route to break the all-time record of 20 assists this season with 17 to his name already.
Against title rivals Leicester City, Ozil's final pass was a peach of a ball for which Danny Welbeck didn't have to do much to score past Kasper Schmeichel. Prior to that assist, Ozil was on a bit of barren run having not gotten an assist in a while but will now look to push on and give Arsenal an edge over their rivals.
Following their 2-1 win over Leicester, Ozil became only the 13th player ever to create more than 100 chances in a single season and going by the current rate he's creating them – which is 4.4 chances per match – Ozil could end up with 159 chances at the end of the season. This is given he doesn't miss a single game – either due to injury or suspension.
The most number of chances created in a season belongs to Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard, who created a whopping 134 chances in the 2008/2009 campaign. That is followed by fellow Chelsea mate, Florent Malouda, who created 117 in the 2010/2011 campaign.
Arsenal's then-jewel, Cesc Fabregas, is third on the list having created 116 chances in the 2006/2007 season tied with Evertonian stalwart, Leighton Baines, who also created 116 during the 2012/2013 season.
