Arsenal‘s Nicklas Bendtner has expressed his displeasure at Arsene Wenger for not letting him leave during the summer transfer window.
If it can be recalled, Nicklas Bendtner was to make a deadline day move to Crystal Palace but the deal was stopped in the last minute as Chelsea refused to loan them Demba Ba. Since then, Bendtner has been deputising for Oliver Giroud.
Bendtner said, “I got extremely disappointed when he (Wenger) called, because I was set to move on.
“Actually I thought they didn’t want to keep me. I had everything in place. There were three clubs who were just waiting that I would accept one of their offers.”
He added: “I have to fight double in every match and I have got to score, to prove that I should get the chance from the start next time.
“That is difficult since I have hardly played for a year due to injuries, and neither have I had a pre-season together with the others in the team.”
It needs to be remembered that Bendtner had the whole summer to make his move, but chose to wait till the last possible minute to make his decision.
