Arsene Wenger says the injures might be due to supplements

Arsene Wenger suspects that the persistent and prolonged injuries that had plagued Arsenal for almost the entire season might be due to consumption of legal supplements which enhances the aspects of the players’ lifestyle and performance without the knowledge of the club.

Last month, Wenger had ordered an investigation into the club’s training methods and medical methodology. Arsenal are missing the services of key players like Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil. Laurent Koscielny is the new inductee in the list.

Arsene Wenger suggested that even though the club investigation reports aren’t out yet he personally believe that supplements might be a reason. He said: “Some of them [muscle injuries] are down to the medication that the players take that you don’t even know about. Then you realise afterwards that they took this medication but that’s not prudent.”

Arsenal face Everton tomorrow in the Premier League, which is a potential clash for a top four spot. The only good news for the Gunners is that Aaron Ramsey will be back after three months, although he would most likely start on the bench.
