Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has rubbished reports linking the Gunners’ German international forward Lukas Podolski with a move to Italian giants Inter Milan.
Podolski has never quite broken through or made a strong claim for his inclusion in the Arsenal line-up ever since his move to North-London from German side Cologne in the summer of 2012. Most of his appearances for Arsenal have come from the bench, with the German leading the chart in the Premier League for the most used sub in his first season in England.
This season hasn’t been any different for the German with the ex- Bayern man seeing the field on only seven occasions, accumulating a total of 99 minutes on the pitch. That has lead to a lot of speculation regarding the future of the German at The Emirates.
Wenger however seems to find any reason to think that Podolski won’t be an Arsenal player by the time the January transfer window shuts down.
Speaking in a press conference today, the Frenchman said: "That is a joke. Inter Milan is not serious. They talk, there is only talk. He's a player of Arsenal Football Club and I want him to stay. Apart from that, what is to be professional is that as long as you are somewhere, you give your best to justify your wages and your love for the club."
Podolski was hotly linked with Turkish giants Galatasaray in the summer and the reports surrounding the German won’t subside any time soon unless he takes to the field on a more regular basis.
