Paris, Nov 18: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said that the majority of international football is largely "a waste of time".
The 65-year-old was linked with French national team for several times but insisted in coaching the English Premier League (EPL) side which he has been in charge for 18 years, reports Xinhua.
"I have had the opportunity to be France coach on several occasions," he said Monday.
"As the France coach, there are only two interesting things: the World Cup and the Euros. The rest is a little bit of a waste of time," said the Gunners boss.
Wenger's name was debated for Les Bleus' job after Raymond Domenech and Laurent Blanc left in 2010 and 2012, respectively. However, the Frenchman said that he prefers the day-to-day involvement of club football, rather than the international scene.
France are now managed by Didier Deschamps who succeeded Blanc after their controversial Euro 2012 campaign.
