According to The Sun, Morgan Schneiderlin of Southampton is being eyed by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. The 23-year old Frenchman has been monitored by Wenger ever since his £1.2 million move from Strasbourg five years ago, with the Arsenal manager now prepared to buy him in a £10 million deal. He plays as a midfielder, and his role at Arsenal could be to replace the injury-prone Abou Diaby.
Wenger already has a reputation for grooming young players, and has lured the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from the St Mary’s to Arsenal in recent years.
Another year without silverware might force Wenger to launch his biggest transfer spending spree yet over his 17 years at Arsenal. Hopefully, with that money, he can get some players who can end the trophy drought for the Gunners.
