Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is not concerned about criticism from a set of the club’s fans after the side‘s 1-0 win against West Brom at the Hawthorns. Wenger has been at the receiving end of critics and fans for a few years for not changing with the times and sticking with his philosophy on being attractive rather than winning/ Some fans at the game were seen carrying a banner which said “Arsene. Thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye”.
Speaking at the post-match conference the Frenchman said: "We live in a society of total opinion but we live off not what we say but what we do and what we do is on the pitch,".The 65-year-old has been Arsenal manager since 1996 but his last 9 years at the club have seen just one piece of silverware, an FA Cup last season.
Asked about the banner at the game, Le Professeur said that he did not wish to comment on it but added that everyone has the right to prepare for the future.
“I don't comment on that. Do I need to say it again? I don't comment on your question.”
He added: “Every person has responsibility to prepare for the future, always.”
There were pockets of fans with smaller banners at The Emirates last week during The Gunners’ 1-2 against Manchester United.
