Roma have agreed a €10 million deal with AC Milan which will allow them to keep the 29 year old striker Marco Borriello at the club. Borriello had joined Roma on loan from the San Siro for one season with an option to make the deal permanent. And Roma have decided to exercise that option by agreeing to pay the necessary €10 million to the Rossoneris.
The striker joined the capital outfit on August 31, 2010, on a season long loan with an obligation to buy outright this summer. The 29-year-old impressed everyone last season, scoring 15 goals in 36 appearances for Roma – helping the club to qualify for the Europa League.
The ‘Giallorossi’ have issued a statement claiming to have “exercised, in line with the terms and conditions laid out by the federal norms currently in force, the right of first refusal for the definitive acquisition of the right to [the striker's] sporting services”.
Milan will be paid 10 million euros plus VAT over three years. The first yearly instalment of 3.4 million euros will be made next season, while the other two 3.3 million payments will be made in the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons.
News of Borriello’s permanent deal comes just hours after Barcelona said they were considering an offer from the Italian club for their 20-year-old striker Bojan Krkic.?
